there will be days
when you feel as if
you've done all within,
days when your soul
feels batter'd, thrash'd & thin
...but don't you quit.

when so-call'd friends
whom you thought would
conquer the earth with you
then do it all over again
on a whim will look at you
as if your spirit was a stranger
& your blessings seen as sin

when those days so dark
enfold you, when those with
whom you share a blood line
scold you for doing your thing
the best way that you know how,
& people of your kinship scoff
with razor tongues turn your dreams
under the dirt &  tear you up inside
like you were a weed beneath their
field plow, here's what you do:

look in the mirror,
remember whom you are,
write your destiny seven times seven,
never think of wimping out,
never shut out the beam of hope,
that light of liberty to choose 
the course of your destiny...
that's the time to get very serious
when the ones you thought
believ'd in you got crazy,
lost what was left of their
unrighteous minds &
tried to take you with them
to their little box'd in zip code
in a land they expand call'd
DELIRIOUS
& you shall not lose. . .
You Shall Not Lose. . . 
stick to your purpose and
trust me when I tell you my friend...
in the end... YOU win!
Oh my God no don't you DARE
think your victory will not be so!
