Fitting in can be like a puzzle, even the president at times faces the firearm muzzle. They shot and killed president Abraham Lincoln, bust a cap in Ronald Reagan, even tried to treat Jesus like a pagan.

Poem Artwork

When it comes to fitting in
rookie poet forget the den
You'll probably cringe when
it comes to review sin
then again
you might fit right in smiling
while your verse is profiling

Depending on your style of verse
things could get better before worse
Anyway a true poet will follow his curse
stick through whatever thick or thin
and ignore the negative in the den
This is the only way to win
You got to fight hard and defend
Sooner or later the jagged ends
will eventually mend
If not go ahead and transend

The only way down instead
might be in ones own head
Human nature points down anyway
this is why there's so much decay
Many can't get to the top must less stay
I've been on my way reaching
in my own brain preaching
walking the floor teaching
After all the years I've found
I'm still down on the ground
Looking up at the stars
true success still seems
further than mars
and I've got the bruises and scars
