"I Am Bannerman Castle"
I'm a souvenir on this historical Valley;
Concrete witness of wise courageous deeds;
Keeping dreams and ideals in geometric forms,
I stand proudly as a photo of a great mind!
I was dreamed to honor the glorious labor
Of an entrepreneurial pioneer...
Conceived as an architectural jewel,
A castle without vassals... — that's my motto,—
In an oriflamme swaying high to freedom!
My conceiver and builder made a name,
Adding facts to the Spanish American war;
But it was through the First World War that his fame
Came... I was then and am now — honoring his glory,
For I am romance, persevering and heroical!
History — is written in — on every wall;
All reminiscences are etched on the doors.
Sublime emotions of romantic atmosphere
Of a blissed life of Frank and Helen; milady
And milord Bannerman; and their heritage
Of botany, commerce, courage and visions!
The energy of their love and union I feel;
The dance to celebrate their togetherness
In the night they revived their vows to life...
And their second honey moon's commencement:
Lady Helen and Lord Bannerman serenaded
On the cadence and flow of "Tonight We Love"...
And, in that blissed celebration of love and art —
The music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky — they danced!
Yes, history is future... I'm Bannerman Castle...
— Will You let the indifference make me a vassal?!
