This is a song about dreams and the reality (face... the villan down) that the common worker must battle each day.

For melody line sheet music see "101 Songs of a Texas Cowboy".

Words and Music-Joel B. Kirkpatrick, III
Copyright 1986
Moderately slow and fluid rhythm

THE ORIENTAL COWBOY… PUTS ON HIS COWBOY HAT…
WALKS OVER TO HIS RICKSHAW… AND SHOOTS A SLEEPING CAT…
HE DREAMS THAT HE IS BACK IN TIME
WHEN MEN WERE REALLY MEN…
EACH DAY HE DOES THE SAME OLD THING
EACH NIGHT THAT'S HOW IT ENDS…

THE ORIENTAL COWBOY… WALKS OUT INTO THE STREET…
HE HAS TO FACE… THE VILLAIN DOWN…
THIS TIME HE WON'T BE BEAT…
HE DREAMS ABOUT A SIMPLE TIME
     WHEN MEN WERE REALLY MEN…
AND EACH NIGHT WHEN HE FALLS ASLEEP
     THAT'S WHEN HIS LIFE BEGINS…

    {instrumental}

HE'S GOT TO MAKE JUST ONE MORE FAIR BEFORE HE CAN GO HOME…
THE NEON OF THE CITY SHINES… AGAIN HE STARTS TO ROAM…
OUT ON THE RANGE… HE'S RIDING HIGH…
HIS FACE STUCK IN THE WIND…
EACH DAY HE DOES THE SAME OLD THING
EACH NIGHT THAT'S HOW IT ENDS…

THE ORIENTAL COWBOY… WALKS OUT INTO THE STREET…
HE HAS TO FACE… THE VILLAIN DOWN…
THIS TIME HE WON'T BE BEAT…
HE DREAMS ABOUT A SIMPLE TIME
     WHEN MEN WERE REALLY MEN…
AND EACH NIGHT WHEN HE FALLS ASLEEP
     THAT'S WHEN HIS LIFE BEGINS…
