O beautiful is sacred dawn
With mist that touches early morn
Leaving the kiss of heaven's dew
Upon the day that's being born


The Wonderous sight of resurrection
A miracle God sheds on earth
As first light approaches on night's horizon
While all creation awaits its birth


O joyful is the morning song
As it is sung from rocks to rills
For daybreak's choir sings glorious hymns
That echo through the distant hills


How sweet the voice of gentle sparrow
Who beckons mankind from her nest
To awaken cheerfully all that slumber
As night time takes to gentle rest


Yesterday's dawning has come to end
Be not discouraged of things left undone
For your second chance at hand is waiting
Upon the birth of today's new sun
