It's all the parents fault...they should have been on the way of that sword instead of the puppy... and any stupid kid that has a mind so easily manipulated as those you speak of shouldnt come out of the barney phase...that way they'll only be closet gays in the future

OMG "Only the PUP"!!!! OMG if that were a child of mine, the closest he would have gotten to that sword was the game. I am not a big fan of Japanese anime, or any other video games, so he wouldn't have even the game.

Your piece High Country Girl, has hit the problem with our children right on the head. Video games teach, and the children do, or at least try to imitate the characters, especially their favorite character, from the game.

And if my son would have injured or killed my puppy, I guarantee he wouldn't sit for a month.

You have penned a very heartfelt and true piece High Country Girl. WE, all of us as parents, should sit down and preview these games before letting our children anywhere near them.

I've been thinking about all the stuff going on today. When my children dabbled with video games they were child like and innocent. Fishing, baseball, NFL, today's games are mini horror shows. Guess if I had kids now my answer would still be the same as it was than. I said no more times than I can count. Maybe part of the problem is that parents don't want to be parents, you think?? Real eye opening write!

Excellen write Ch'erie and all too true. Like I said in one of my pieces; we don't own a single video game console and my 7 year old boy Jon is not allowed to play with toy guns or any type of toy that teaches or encourages violent behavior. What he is allowed to watch on TV is resticted too. Be safe and may God bless. Paul

Why must children be taught all the arts of fighting? Open TV and watch their cartoons, so full of violence. Then we wonder why our youth are so merciless and have no values. Very well written.

I know VERY little about ANIME but it would seem to me to give a sword with a sharp edge on it to a kid is to invite disaster...E & R
