“It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” ~E Hillary
UPWARD HAS A SWEETER VIEW
Granted by such privilege We are mortals of free will Upon our explorations Come choices now fulfilled
And here upon my half mark When daring I look back Upon years of my passings(almost 53) I now see thru the cracks
Cracks caused by the burdens I chose, yet I deny Between them, back bent sumptered Here from their split, I spy
I spy the possibilities Advantages and lack To see life through, a focused view As upward, outsteps back
Upward has a sweeter view With shadows fading bright For this dull mortal on life's hill I'll age to brighter lights
I hope!

Oh that's it!!! I am not fading, the white hair means nothing! I am brightening! Muuhaahaaa

Great reflection! Positive thoughts bring positive things, and most climbs bring with them amazing views! Enjoyed, ty. Panda :)
So very inspirational - look upward and forward, don't repeat the same mistakes.
I plan on plagerizing your line about the white hair - "I'm brightening!" Perhaps, my Mom will let her hair go white, instead of being so 'dull.'
What a wonderful write! Enjoyed this much...I love the comment about the white hair, I have often had people ask me why I didn't dye the white steak in my hair? I always replied that God intended it this way, and it is a sign of wisdom due to the trials of life that I have overcome! I am often greeted with a strange and curious expression. Ironically I am also often ask, who does my hair...I also reply that good Lord is my hair dresser, again I am greeted with a peculiar expression! I am who I am...enjoyed the thoughts behind and within this write. Enjoyed my friend!

53 years old? What a magical number Anita, the sum total being 8, which is a spiritual number for new beginnings. And the positive and tentative mix you create in this poem shows the writer as being very human, and very in touch with her desires and mortality. This is a winner, as you are dear friend.
Blessings ...

Wonderful write. If God does not move mountains it is not because of your lack of faith. It is because he wants you to know the wonderful joy of climbing it.
