Long ago in ancient Rome


As Christians hid in catacombs


A city grand........ numbers,immense


Where scholars lectured common sense


And arts were taken to the heights


As Roman legions marched to fight

Graceful artifacts persevere......


Time untouched....... withstanding years


Before


glass blowing became known


And human WINDS***, were


left alone


Casting was the method then


Used


time and time again......


Bottles, bowls,




Used by all, for daily tasks



Slaves and craftsmen of the trade
Designed this


glass from past decades

And now these pieces on



display


Such beauty constant, beyond passe


Whose


hands gave form, to what we see?
The ancient



slave......... long absentee

***my reference to winds was made because now artistic



glass is made from glass blowing...which is soo bad for



your lungs, and being an x-artist, and asthmatic it



worries me when ones health is affected by ones



passion... : (
