O! Lord, please guide my heart and soul
When words of prose have full control
Please hold my pen, within Your Might
Each time I choose to stop and write
Please bless me with inspired thought
About the lessons You have Taught
Then, let my feelings flow and pour
So that my views take flight and soar.

Lord, be my strength when skies are gray
And worldly deeds are in the way
Of messages I long to share
When others need some love and care
Please be my light, my voice, my verse
In every stanza I rehearse
For without You, my words are cold
And have no meaning to behold.

O! Lord, please lead me in Your Grace
When poetry needs my embrace
Please praise the meaning I portray
In each idea that I convey
Dear Lord, please sanctify my skill
So I may share Your hallowed Will
With those who yearn to know You’re there
Within Your Name, this is my prayer.
