When long and hollow days appear
And goals seem far and few
A cherished friend, held ever dear
Will shine a light for you
And guide your heart, along the course
That you were meant to seize –
Far from the sadness and remorse
To leave your mind at ease.

This friend will stay within your heart
Whenever distance calls
So that you’ll never be apart
Or lost, as darkness falls
Two people bound by such a will
As what true friendship brings
Shall always find means to fulfill
The unexpected things.

When lengthy, vacant days arise
And goals seem far from reach
A cherished friend, prudent and wise
Will come along to preach
The inner beauty you possess
When others’ needs are much
To show you that your life is blessed
By every soul you touch.
