Just like the starlight come the end
Of every dreary day
The moments that our angels lend
Will slowly fade away
The winter snows will melt in spring
When flakes no longer fall
And soon our lives will mean nothing
To anyone at all.

Just like a whisper on the wind
Becomes a fleeting sound
Sometimes, we find our closest friend
Is nowhere to be found
Our thoughts revolve and question why
This bond is kept at bay
Fearing the known that shall imply
All good things fade away.

Just like the beaming ray of light
That vanishes from view
The dreams we shall embrace tonight
Shall wither on the blue
The dusk shall leave a fleeting trace
Of what life should convey
Then, grant us one final embrace
Before we fade away.
