This Love of Ours

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A sonnet inspired by the works of Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Sunday, December 3, 2006

Poem Artwork

Inside your heart, I see a light
Of hope and faith in marveled glow
A special place I yearn to know
With all my vigor and my might
Gentleness reigning bold and bright
Bereft of where dreams shall not flow
Your soul the core where love shall grow
To spread its wings for timeless flight.
Home for an angel’s blessed call
Or where a heroine finds peace
A heart as yours ‘twas meant to fall
Far from the billowed clouds of fleece
To claim the greatest gift of all ---
This love of ours to never cease.

Hi Jill,

Elizabeth Barrett Browning must be smiling now, knowing that one of her students had surpassed her in talent. This is gorgeous.

Love & Light always and in all ways,
Joseph*
