Forgotten Soul

A fictional poem about losing faith in love.

Poem Artwork

For many years, I have believed
My love ‘twas meant to be received
By someone who would truly care
About the warmth I long to share
But, still I seek and never find
A sight so welcomed in the mind
As what my heart painfully yearns –
The day when given love returns.

Each morning, I wake from a dream
And say hello to each sunbeam
While wondering if I will fall
Or spend this life against a wall
I do not wish to be alone
But, as the recent days have shown
The future looks dismal and gray
With no love set to come my way.

My faith in love was once quite strong
But now, I know something is wrong
Love’s melody, once crystal clear
No longer echoes in my ear
As days progress; each one alone
I pray for love to call my own
But in the end, ‘tis all for naught
My heart, the soul that time forgot.

A strong sense of sadness, unrequited love, conveyed. Oft all it takes is the right person or perspective to turn things around.

Congrats on your latest at Sunny.

Love is like the rain. It falls from the sky and when it lands on you it grows. When it lands on two they grow together.
God Bless,
Lew

Ah that is the beauty of love. It is when we are not acivily seeking or searching and mostly not needing love that cupid usually works his best magic. This is a good write but I think someday you will do a response to this one that will be called Remembered Soul.

Seasons greetings.
Fee
