Suncatcher

A sweet little poem about the sun and how we observe the beauty and blessings that its worth provides.

Poem Artwork

Just once, I’d like to catch the sun
And hold him in my hand
Then, maybe when the day is done
Set him upon a stand
I could hide him beneath my bed
Or in a jelly jar
So, when I reach the day ahead
Pleasure would not be far.

I know the sun would be my friend
If he were by my side
For on his light, I could depend
And never be denied
He’d stop to smile as I climbed hills
Then, shield me from the cold
Enriching my life with his skills
For being bright and bold.

Just once, I’d like to catch the sun
And hold him near my heart
Yet, I know when that day was done
I’d never wish to part
So, I’ll resign to keep my view
As something left undone
Until my time on earth is through
And I am with the sun.

I finished my poem, Good Morning Sunshine, a few moments ago. It appears we are like-minded Sun catchers, Sunshine.

Simply brilliant, Jill (as always)! And it somehow reminds me of the man who caught the wind, but when he held it in his hand, it was no longer wind. This poem will rank as one of your best!
