Forever in Peace ~ A Virginia Tech Memorial

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

Thirty-three souls left this world, gone astray
As sorrow weighed heavily on skies of gray,
While we stop to remember, we must question why
Lives so sweet and tender had to say goodbye.

While no sense can be made, in the wake of such grief
We know in due time, we will find some relief,
In knowing these angels, though taken too soon
Are resting in Heaven, with the sun and moon.

Each angel had been a true blessing on earth
A being so precious and so full of worth,
A child of God, sent stateside to roam
Until utter madness led their spirits Home.

Thirty-three souls left this world, gone astray
And sorrow weighs heavily, still on this day,
In memories, their legacies shall never cease
God be with the Hokies, forever in peace.

Jill,
A perfect tribute to so many tragically lost. That day will reign in sorrow for many days and years to come.
I know all will be grateful for such an endearing write.

A most tender write to a most terrible and unforgetable day etched in our collective memories. Pray for their innocent souls.

This is a beautiful tribute, Jill, to the innocent and their families, who will forever search for some reason for what has happened and find none. My prayers are forever with them to find peace.
Love and respect,
CJ

I am speechless concerning this matter, heart heavily burdened it could have been any one of our children also. I am wondering if there is any one on the den that perhaps had any loved ones in attendance there.
Jill this is a beautiful heart and spirit filled write you have created that I am sure echoes everyone's deepest feelings.
Thank you for sharing this they will probably have an online site that will be accepting such writes (although) I have not checked still trying to get over that devastating feelings.

Blessing and enlightenments to you,
From the Heart of an Artist Quiet Storm

Beautiful write. Perhaps those souls were rescued rather than lost. God is holding them in his arms. Where better to go too?
God Bless,
Lew
