Valley of Trees

A bereavement poem of comfort for anyone who is suffering a loss.

Poem Artwork

In a valley of trees stands a willow
A willow which bends toward the shore
Her limbs flow like tears to my pillow
Now that you have reached Heaven’s door
Every day seems to move in slow motion
Just like the willow’s graceful leaves
My heart aches with utmost devotion
While my soul, painstakingly, grieves.

In a valley of trees stands a willow
A willow whose long branches sigh
Her limbs flow like tears to my pillow
Since the Lord reached His hand from the sky
And asked that you come Home to join Him
In a place He has saved for His best
A site without madness and mayhem
Where your heart can know endless rest.

In a valley of trees stands a willow
A willow bent in silent prayer
Her limbs flow like tears to my pillow
In light of the loss I must bear
Her grace will administer healing
As I go through the coming days
Each time I see her branches kneeling
I’ll know your soul is near, always.

Jill--Believe it or not, we planted a willow in the front yard for my husband's Father's Day present. So special, so touching.
Thank You

Beautiful:
My heart aches with utmost devotion
While my soul, *****painstakingly******, grieves.
Yes we grieve for th loss of a loved one but we know that they have found eternal happiness. Let us rejoice in that.

Wonderful write.
