On this day, our nation pauses
And we bow our heads to mourn
For the souls in Minnesota
Who, as angels, were reborn
Each life beheld a special talent
And had been sent here to roam
But, when their tasks had become gallant
The Lord called His angels, Home.
Reaching His hand toward the River
Where it began in the north
God saw the bridge start to quiver
And summoned His angels forth
One by one, He helped His children
Make their way across the sky
Into the gold walls of Heaven
Where their newfound wings could dry.
On this day, we pause to honor
The precious souls whose lives were lost
May God’s grace be with their families
Left behind to bear the cost
Grief-filled days will be diminished
And the time to heal will start
But, until their pain is finished
Keep Minnesota in your heart.

i vaguely remember hearing something about a bridge in the US collapsing and killing a number of people [sorry for my ignorance but i rarely watch the news... it makes me so angry for the most part]
its when things like this happen that you find out what a state/country/city/community is made of.
when everyone gathers together to shoulder eachothers pain.
i think this is a beautiful gesture.
i really like the idea of the wings drying... kinda like when butterflies emerge from their cocoons...
beautiful.
