A kind-hearted woman of wisdom and grace
She kept her pain masked beneath her wrinkled face
Never late with a hug when life made us cry
She had very little, but always got by
She worked hard from morning until each day’s end
Grateful for her life, prayers of thanks she would send
Her life was not easy and yet, she was pleased
To spend every moment on her hands and knees.
She was someone who always lived life with hope
Certain God would bless her with the means to cope
Her life knew much hardship and yet, she survived
She made sure her family was not deprived
Grandma was not wealthy; she kept modest needs
She is well remembered for doing good deeds
To those who had known her, she still remains strong
Though, nearly a decade now, she has been gone.
She was quite a person; so simple and sweet
Someone you would want your own children to meet
She always had time for her family and friends
For their delight, she would have gone to earth’s ends
She loved her small garden and the yellow rose
She even found peace in the deepest of snows
My guardian angel, when life goes astray
I love you, Grandma; Happy Grandparent’s Day.
