Dear Lord, I have never asked too much of you
I know you are busy with the tasks you do
But, my heart is hurting; I’m worried and sad
I regret that I cannot repair my Dad
For years, I have mustered what strength I could find
Whenever our burdens would create a bind
But, Lord, I am weary; my soul is in pain
Sometimes I feel that my efforts are in vain.

I understand life cannot always be changed
Some moments of hardship have been pre-arranged
So, each of Your children will flourish and grow
Much wiser and braver than I’ll ever know
While grasping this, Lord, I have given my best
My life has a purpose; I’ve been richly blessed
Yet, I fall to pieces; my eyes want to weep
When hours of weakness so solemnly creep.

The pathway ahead has an uncertain course
But, I will trudge onward, with little remorse
As long as I know that You’ll be by my side
To serve as my compass, my friend, and my guide
Dear Lord, I can handle what should come my way
If each morning leads me to a sunny day
Therefore, I must ask please do not pray for me
Be there for my parents through whate’er must be.

What a wonderful way with words you have Jill. The Lord knew what was in your heart before you wrote this and we know what kind of heart you have because you wrote this. Having lost both of my parents to poor health, I have already been where you are.

We are blessed that God hears our prayers and gives us strength when times are difficult. He knows how difficult it is and reminds us that we are not alone - He is, indeed, by our side.

I'll keep you and your parents in my prayers.
Dear God give Jill the strength to bear this difficult journey. She's tired - give her a good rest, for tomorrow she may need all Your strength and love. She is a selfless woman, asking only that You help her parents. Reward them for the loving heart they have instilled in her and their love for You. In Your goodness and mercy, help them to accept Your will, even if they don't necessarily like the outcome. Continue to look after them and guide them with Your love.

God continue to bless you,
Kathy
