Time Moves

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about how quickly time moves, if we don't take the time to appreciate God's gifts in our lives.

Poem Artwork

Time moves faster than a sigh
Echoed ‘cross the skies of blue
Long before we can ask why
One more day is all but through
Life commands a steady pace
With tasks waiting at each bend
Thus, we often come to face
Another week has found its end.

Time moves quicker than the breeze
Blowing ‘cross a fertile plain
With so many jobs to please
Often, we cannot explain
How what seemed like a few hours
Has become a month or year
‘til, as sure as winter showers
A new page in life is here.

Time moves faster than a train
Whistling a merry tune
In a flash, the April rain
Has become the heat of June
Some say we don’t have the time
To sit and gaze upon the lawn
So, we forego God’s design
Then, wonder where the years have gone?

Looking forward to a time when time drags by, but it is highly unlikely for me.

Great write.
Time moves to quickly and you do not even see it move.
Yesterday I was a kid and suddenly I am sixty-two.
Where did the years go?
God Bless,
Lew

Very well said Jill and so very true. You said it in a much better way than I tried to explain it just a short while ago. Now I'm in the dog house for it too. Such is life; time stands still for no one.

It is so important to take time to "see" the beauty around us and live each moment as if it might be the last. Lord knows I do.

God bless you for the loving reminder to appreciate all God's beauty.

Beautifully penned, Jill, this reminder to slow down and see what He's created around us for our pleasure. Well done.
