The longest time your smile has soothed
Much sorrow, your warmth has removed
Your heart is kind and always true
My life is blessed because of you
The future has no guarantees
So, I must ask if I may, please
Hold you amid this evening’s bliss
For one outstanding New Year’s kiss?
To share one moment of delight
With you, at the stroke of midnight
Would be an honor, without fail
I have no doubt, love will prevail
I’ve cared about you for so long
My adoration, sure and strong
One simple kiss, tender and pure
Would reap much joy; of this I’m sure.
The longest time of you I dreamed
An unreal vision, so it seemed
But, then one day, your smile was there
The answer to my every prayer
Because of you, my soul has grown
Much wiser than I’ve ever known
Good times shall come; be sure of this
If I may have a New Year’s kiss.
