May I please have this dance with you
Beneath the moonlit glow
I long to show my love is true
As we swing, to and fro
These feelings I have tried to hide
Can stay hidden no more
I hope you will smile and decide
To join me on the floor.

The music is made for romance
The air is crisp and cool
Because of you, I’m in a trance
I have become a fool
I cannot find the words to say
I struggle with my faults
But, close to you I want to stay
Through a passionate waltz.

The stars are brightly shining, now
Each winking down on us
Before this evening takes a bow
I hope we may discuss
The beauty I’ve seen in your eyes
Since our first passing glance
Therefore, beneath these dreamy skies
I ask you for this dance?
