Loved and Lost

A poem about making the most of the challenges and blessings that we face or are given.

Poem Artwork

So many times, I’ve loved and lost
So many times, I’ve cried
Yet, each moment was worth the cost
I’ve moved ahead in stride
The harder days, while tough to take
Have opened many doors
I’ve grown because of the heartbreak
I’ve seen upon these shores.

So many times, I’ve grabbed the lead
So many times, I’ve stumbled
In life, we can’t always succeed
The goal is to be humbled
I’ve made the most of every hour
As I’ve traveled each mile
Yet, even when I’ve lost my power
I’ve always kept a smile.

So many times, I’ve said goodbye
So many times, I’ve suffered
Yet, each moment I’ve questioned why
Was one the future buffered
The harder days were like a sword
Cutting me to the bone
But, from them, I’ve found a reward
I've made this life my own.

If we didn't know the bitter we wouldn't know the sweet...
As hard as those hard days are, there is always a lesson to be learned from them and joy to be found ahead...

Such lovely & beautiful poetry comes from these places as it comes from Love. And you have found this beauty.

I think we are all products of our past - both the good and the bad - and to make the most of the harder days, is truly a goal worth striving for.
