When a man is one with Heaven's will,
It may be considered as one's Path to follow;
When a man is one with Earth's humbleness,
This is termed the earthly attainments --
Accomplishment of Heaven's will on earth.
When man looks horizontally, back and forth,
This is what is considered to be the Path
With all its milestones, curves and zigzags;
When man looks vertically, up and down,
That is what is called the Scale of Merits --
A scope of virtuous cultivation of one's Self.
