Literature today
Is truthful and not ashamed
Of the truth itself;
It is written proudly,
Apprehensive, and
With understanding
Of both old and new trends.
And, best of all,
It is written by those,
Whose roots are firmly
In the past, but
Whose rich flowering
Is in the present, fulfilling
Every genre demand.
The result today
Is merely a reiteration
Of the Biblical adage
That the fathers
Have eaten sour grapes
And the children's teeth
Are set on edge.
