I was inspired to write this poem a few years ago, when I saw a picture done in grey, that made me truly & fully realize & appreciate the beauty & virtue of Grey ~ and that it is, indeed, one of my favourite colors! . . . Actually, I've always had an affinity for Grey (and Mists) ~ there's just something unequivocally mysterious & spiritual about it and it evokes a sense of transcendence for me . . . I'm sure it also has something to do with the state I was in at the time (in the midst of dealing with some post-trauma and trying to come back from that experience)! . . . I also just had to encorporate one of my favourite books (Mists of Avalon) and musical groups (Evanescence), both of which also conjure that idea of the mysterious & transcendent! . . .
Ah, give me the grey Mysts of Avalon, that I may transcend in ethereal dreams of Evanescence ~
