You came into my life at a very bad time,
And took a chance,
On my fractured heart
That was beginning to harden
And where cynicism had set in;
My tears had dried up, I’d cried them all out,
My life was a desert
Where no roses could bloom,
But love is a healer,
And you gave me that,
You turned on a tap and my tears came back,
They flowed like a river,
And this time for joy,
Softening my heart
And washing right out
The clutter of bad memories, rejections hoard.
You gave me my life back
And helped me to move on,
To grow and to flourish
In this garden of love.
No bitterness or anger in my heart can live,
It’s too full of love
For sorrow to stay,
You filled it right up
And all I can say,
I’ll love you my darling forever and a day.
