I wrote this for my daughter long ago.

Little girl please listen close I love you so. God only knows I'd hate to see this big world hurt you In any way You're young and sweet life's hard and cruel Have faith in God. Be no one's fool Try to be strong. I think you'll make it Little girl These are the words my father said My little girl is up in bed She's prob'ly dreaming 'bout some castles In the sky She's still so young. She doesn't know That life can bring a lot of woe She's just a smiling, sweet, and gentle Little girl Little girl you're fast asleep Into your room I softly creep To say a prayer for you my precious Little girl Good night, baby!
