My Native land
In my native land, rich in culture and immense natural wealth
People most literate ,learning to make good their lives
Nick named God’s own country, Kerala
Here sacred mosques sound thoughtful timely call for prayer
Where wealthy temple towns and great and glorious churches stand
Royal kings from decked palaces ruled and flourished in the yester years
Now the nectar of the flowers , yielding rivers, fruiting coconut grooves abound
Where breezy beaches with dancing palm leaves , wet and waving rice farms stand
Inviting guests from far off lands, across the globe they come and go
Milking rubbers silently ebb golden yields to quench the needs
But overflowing from the cup that always fills is the greed….
The greed that makes the man deviate from the needed stand for the state
Then gleeful perilous politicians proclaim the power of parties patent style!
Where chilling killings in cold blood, be common political doctrine if not curbed!
The specter of violence, the symbol of their strength for disharmony?
The mayhem, the blood bath at times do not make a picture of good regime
Boasting, bragging one’s ability, the mighty sectarian bravado
For the will and skill to fight? To strike at one’s whims and fancy
In various designs. in varied ways
A vicious circle of strikes and violence
To vindicate the other party’s each proposal
When will we be all but free
From brutality and killing spree
Is this the legacy of a land we carry forward on and on
A way of life we leave to our children to go live?
In this my native land there is so much but it be so belittled !
Proving right the age old adage ” Consistency is the virtue of an ass ”
This God’s own land be spared for its abounding beautiful natural wealth.
you describe your native home so beautifully
I am sorry for the fighting, only love & respect
will ever form a global peace union
