Poem Artwork

My alma mater St Joseph's convent, Ranjhi, Jabalpur. M P, India.

 Young minds are nurtured here

Let us keep the environment clear

Like a gardener   tends   his nursery  long

All   means applied to   reach  the  goal

Mind and spirit   strengthened   through learning

Young ones are   the best for molding

Some grow up to become good priests

Yet others may conduct a heist

What makes the turn   from good to bad

Is but a thin line which   holds the bait

What   ever  factors  take over the   lives

The shift  always should be to the right

Some soon get lost in the fight

Each to his own will take on the plight

But the ones that shine in   bright light

Are those who    focus on the long  sight

Some are wild and horrid in   youthful   pride

But as years turn on they grow mild

There may be yet others who peak

In the golden years so much they seek

But the early learning grooming years

Will be the benchmark in the long haul

Very true JK. Those early learning years definitely lie the academic foundation. They determine whether the foundation would the shaky or strong. Very well written. Thanks for sharing.

I've had a lot of schooling myself, and schools do serve a purpose of providing content that parents do not possess. However, I firmly believe and research holds out that parental behavior and genetics play a very large part in success in school and in life.

This is off the charts brilliant! It is a nearly perfect outline of what teaching ought to be about. And told so honestly and modestly...
Bravo for raising the standard for excellence to a new level.

Very nice and true. We must help each person along and guide them but who they choose to be is who they will be.

What makes the turn from good to bad,
Is but a thin line

How so sadly true.

Great poem!! You are so right about the importance of schooling in a child's life. Also, getting into the wrong crowd of friends may lead to a life being ruined. There's only one thin line between the "Good" and tne "Bad", as we always got to remind our children to keep only the good friends.

Thank you for such a meaningful poem!!
