Holy spirit came down Jesus Christ was born It is fun energy which took form When Gene Wilder was born Comedian Gene Wilder Star Willy Wonka Frizzy haired actor Had eyes startling blue In our hearts now we carry All his roles so many A comic genius he A nice human being be With wild curls and eyes lively How kids loved him dearly Willy Wonka Gene Wilder His sitcom Something wilder Will stay in hearts forever “ My quiet exterior be A mask for hysteria” said he He battled ill health furiously Played his roles seriously To bring joy,fun and laughter For big and small alike

I'm sure Gene would appreciate this fine tribute. He was such a funny, funny man. And so was Gilda. Their comic genius was rare and will remain in our hearts forever. Rest well, Gene.

Yes, we are forever indebted to both Gene and Gilda for their unique comic styles, although cut short, will remain with us forever, thanks to video of their performances.

That wild-eyed look that Gene was known for branded him forever in my mind.

Whenever I get on the wrong track, I stop for a moment and think of Emily Latilda. And then I say, "Nevermind."

No doubt about it, Gene Wilder was a kind and caring human being, and a comedic genius. He was matched in both areas by his brilliant wife, Gilda Radner, who raised the level of humor on SNL to a new level. RIP to them both. Thanks for your fine tribute, JK.
