My T-Shirts tell my history
of places I have been,
rivers I have crossed,
highways I have ridden,
teams I have rooted for,
races I have ran,
museums I have visited,
a tour of Hoover Dam,
a Superbowl experience,
work picnics that were fun,
a Beatle that sang to me,
a surf shop named Ron Jon,
a train ride to Durango,
a Sturgis ride I rode,
FM stations, charity drives,
Singapore’s Orchard Road,
A space launch I once saw,
Key West’s Sloppy Joe’s,
Pune University,
a Bronco’s Super Bowl,
Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta,
watching Hendrix sing,
Grand Canyon and Moab,
multiple Olympic rings,
Tesla, Mozart, Green Day,
Bill Murray’s happy face,
Rutt’s Hut in New Jersey,
and my favorite camping place,
most are old or stained
some faded T’s you know
they paint my life’s experience
I’ll never let them go.
…and then there’s my hat collection…

lovely memories
they enrich our lives, well said

I was too cheap to collect anything other than postcards or brochures. I guess I wanted to be like Clark Gable when he took off his shirt and showed that he had no undershirt. While my father wore them religiously, I never did. It is only in recent years that I have any at all, given to me like the one on my photo by the University for that picnic that day. Required wearing.

Of course, I as well and my son still have the Tee. One day i will be gone but my son will treasure that Tee, not the shirt itself , but the memories. Funny how the best memories aren't of money, things accumulated or things accomplished alone but with things accomplished with others, not by ourselves.
Thanks for your poem reminding us of the importance of memories.

are fading away,
and someday in the future,
we'll both decay.
Cool write.
