The greatest horror of them all besides Pearl Harbor. And yes, the jet that the passengers brought down, turned right above the end of the street where I live.
Daughter called me
Turn on T.V.
No! No! No!
What do I see
As the world learned
Jet above turned
Why? Why? Why?
P.A. crashed burned
Pentagon fire
Sorrowful ire
Pray! Pray! Pray!
Dastardly dire
INDEED OUR NATION WILL NEVER FORGET THIS DAY BUT YOU...TO WHOM DEATH CAME SO CLOSE, WILL CERTAINLY NEVER EVER FORGET IT. BY THE GRACE OF GOD YOU SURVIVED AND OUR NATION, BY THE GRACE OF GOD WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO TOO. THANKS FOR SHARING, JANE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
The last generation had Pearl Harbor, we've got 9/11. May neither one be forgotten. Besides the attack on 9/11, the thing I remember most, is how quiet the skies were since all aircraft were grounded for a few days. It was eerie.
Like so many days in a long life, a day to remember. How it could happen is still hard to fathom. Your poem reflects how we all feel who have witnessed on the television that day what evil does to men who are determined to destroy. May we never forget.

What a horrible day it was. This poem reflects the feelings of a nation.
I had just started a new job in the UAE. Came back from work to the hotel and turned on the TV. The rest is history. I went to school in New York and have walked every inch of Manhattan. A day to remember indeed. I certainly will NEVER forget.
Your short reflection is spot on in arresting our somewhat languid position in "resisting" the ripple effect history took that day... now that ripple is becoming a tsunami of fear, a much different, and more potent kind of destruction.
Did you ever wonder what happened after the Archangel Michael through the demons out of heaven? Let one of them guide you through the origin of evil in the world.
