Anoint me in the light of heaven/
dripping slow like syrup on a wintry day/
purge me of the error of presumptive thinking/
reprove my cold, uncaring ways/
I repent of hurried, indifferent kisses/
that lack medicinal properties/
I atone for impure, thoughtless motives/
forgive me for my frailties/
let me prove to you my contrite spirit/
submit to you transparently/
the alcove of my adoration/
strengthen the love that fuses we/
Anoint me in the light of heaven/
till passion's flush transforms my frame/
entrust to me your heart's true longings/
commit to me your darkest shame
Always,
Deborah

I have one criticism.. "the love that fuses we" seems a bit awkward to me. Why not use "fuses us" which would be proper grammar?
I like your intro sentence, too.
