A Brand New World

Today I awakened
to a brand new world
laid out before me
like a brilliant jewel
 
A world where
no one was hungry
or in pain
 
All were working
towards their
highest dreams
with no thoughts
of personal gain
 
Wisdom had replaced
ignorance greed and fear
as everyone could see
creating wealth
for only self
brings wars famine
misery and pain
 
People united
in creating new worlds
where all would shine
 
As personal collections
of vast wealth vanished
so did wars and famine
 
Today I awakened to
a new world
laid out before me
like a jewel
where not one person
suffered in poverty
 
Wisdom prevailed
greed was gone
wars ceased
 
A new world
was created
with one heartbeat
 
Societies of yesterday
where only a few had
and never shared
were remembered
as the saddest moments
of our entire history
 
Today I awakened
to a bright new world
laid out before me
like a brilliant jewel
