"SANTA MARIA ORPHANAGE"
by Judy Joy Jones

FATHER CLIFFORD ANTONIO
NORMAN 1931 - 2013

Father Clifford Antonio Normans blood
was shed
for the little ones
without anyone

May we sing praises
to this holy soul
who reminded each
its eternity we
should seek

Giving up family
home and friends
and faithfully following
gods will
while seeing the worst
the world can do
to children left
alone with no home

Father built shelters
from the storms
for the thousands
of children
dying on the streets
from poverty and disease

A simple man
who died to self
living instead
for thousands
of orphans
who had no one

As the world
sought glamour
and fame
father was slowly
building a flame
inside each forgotten child
thrown in the streets
to die

May all the saints
gather round
and place upon
Father Normans
gentle brow
a wreath of gold
the kind
that never grows old

As his sacred soul
left earths shores
angel voices
sang his praises
all night long

And trumpets sounds
echoed round
as heavens doors
opened wide
to usher home
this blessed priest
whose name is inscribed
next to the greatest saints
for his many noble deeds

Father Clifford Antonio Norman
has earned his place
in the eternal book of life

It is too often true that those who selflessly give to others go unrecognized. Even though it is not what they seek, to have fame or celebrity, it is a most worthy cause to care for and give one's life for the children of the world who are most harmed by climate change, war, terrorism, fundamentalism, environmental exploitation, etc. Very well said and in need of saying!
