Seasons' Rain

Seasons’ Rain

 

I was the Spring, Summer

Autumn and Winter rain

My life was taken from me

I was not to blame

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of somebody else’s war

Bombs, shrapnel rained down on me

I fell down, dead, to a bloodied floor

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of persecution

Gassed, or burnt alive

My remains scattered in mass execution

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of a mob attack

Kicked, knifed and left alone

My killers left no clues, no track

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of famine

Dehydrated, starved with millions

Hopelessly waiting relief for my kin

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of disease

Fevers, sickness, complete malaise

My pain; no drugs could ease

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of a car crash

Jolted, thrown through a windscreen

My body strewn in a bloody mash

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the victim of abuse

Punched, thrown for no reason

I couldn’t fight back; no use

 

I did not deserve to die

I was the Spring, Summer

Autumn and Winter rain

My life, never to be repeated again

 

I am the Spring, Summer

The Autumn and Winter rain

Remember me as I fall on terrain

Remember me as the Seasons’ rain

Hi Andrea!! Cretivity at its best and succint! A poem that has a kaleidoscope of interpretation and meaning. What about sending this to some politicians and world leaders?
