Just a Room
A villa in her childhood
A Dalmatian was her friend
Born an only child
She vowed to end this trend
A bungalow with her parents
Hitler’s bombs on the lawn,
on her glasshouse too!
Lucky escapes,not forlorn
A Manse to raise the family
Village, town and city
Three children, six dogs
Some pretty, yes very pretty!
A flat in widowhood
Good views, aches and pains
Falls on the carpet
Everywhere, blood stains
But now Just a Room.
A high ceiling, but still a view
Meals provided. A last resort.
Just a Room, old, but so new.
Written with deep feeling and depth - a very heartfelt poem!
Best regards,
