Bright harmonious green firs stand erect in the sun
Bringing shade to the children out for a run
Waving slightly at the first hint of a breeze
Majestically growing for all to please
Yet at night when the sun has gone to rest
Dark branches sinisterly put us to test
Merging with the black inky sky they conspire
To monitor our movement after dark in the mire
Yet when the night relaxes and the day’s underway
We welcome their movement in the wind as they sway
Living beyond the three score years and ten
They observe my life from beginning to end.
JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Lovely poem about a lovely tree.

Interesting, as you point out here, how our perspectives on the swaying trees changes from night to day. They are certainly one of God's mysterious and magnificent creations.
