A poem to someone that couldn't weather the storm I am going through.

Poem Artwork

Tired of dodging the thrown stones

I turn the other cheek for just so long

Before I bend down, and grab a big one

And send it flying back

I’m not really that concerned about who it hits

Just sick of it

It seems that honesty is not the best policy

When seeing the truth is not a possibility

Too many miles to ever make that be

I can’t make you see that it is good to be me

Harsh judgement from those that do not know

Frustrating to be powerless over carelessly drawn assumptions

I don’t want more advice

And I’m tired of defending myself

Can’t stomach spilling forth another explanation

I’ve been paying for a long time

For the mistakes that I have made

And it seems like when I’m almost paid- someone raises the price

It is with some grief that I watch you go

Not trying to make you think it’s easy

I don’t expect you to care enough to understand

About what I’m going through

Don’t want to upset your peaceful planet

But for respect, I make no demands

I would, therefore

Go easy on the metaphors

All of that energy generates kinetic force

Rubbed the wrong way, a cat can light a light bulb

So be damned careful

And go tell THAT to your horse

Blue,

Perfectly stated; keep strong, and know you're in my heart and prayers. Never let anyone bring you down to their level; you're much better than they are. Ya know?

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You go Blue, that's telling it like it is, we have to stand up for ourselves if we expect people to stand beside us. I know you don't take s--t from no one and that is the only way to be. Well written, well said.
Felix
