Life can be for a long time the sweetest thing cuddling our existence when we are fifteen and discover a world of wonders, like being in love!
Then, life shows its brutality...

Poem Artwork

Not before or even will be after
reaching the age of seventeen
life will be so cruel, indifferent
of the pain of a heart that bleeds;
golden locks shining with the sun,
blue eyes, “will they look at me,
or just like life be as indifferent,
and to my way will they never see?”

Once, just once, passing by, he got
a shy smile returned with a wink
of one of those mischievous eyes,
saying welcome, welcome to me!!!
he kept going but leaving behind
his heart beating on her hands, she
most have understood then and there,
that love was for him a reality.

Her name was Maria, sweet Maria,
called perhaps after that sirocco wind,
in his eyes a most virginal apparition,
hands moving like butterflies wings
with promises of caresses never felt,
delicate nose and velvet covered skin,
a true dream or a dream coming true ,
she was like a fragile porcelain figurine.

One day the mirror reflecting beauty
felt on the floor with a glass scream,
the girl didn’t woke up that morning,
so many dreams she had, went to sleep
remembering that sweet shy boy smile,
the laughing eyes in that face of him,
that she felt sad when the angels came
and, to say to him goodbye, couldn’t she.

When boy loves a girl named Maria
called perhaps after a sirocco wind,
the rain will be in all his tears and,
forever inside his heart…will be she.

My tears were brought upon by a separation
of 1500 miles between her and I
she 14 and 16, She was 10 and I was 12
when we first met... still I think of her
I stayed in The Big Apple and she found
Her destiny in the Windy city.
Thank you Georg for this great write
that brought me some memories
Peace Be with you Brother

Very deep and beautifully said. That boy loved that girl, with the purity of a child and first love. Very eloquently put...I really enjoyed this one.

Ooh, sad. Perhaps the best abode at times is the heart. At least he knew. He knew or had a taste of what love was and is. A good one.
