In the sands of Mallorca I got the inspiration to answer the sweet challenge from Amber to write a love poem about two Native Americans.
It's long, have patience and bear with us, and then, tell us how we did...

A poetry collaboration of Poetess Amber Moonstone and Georg E Mateos

by Georg

Rocky walls wearing a long waterfall
into a pond trying to go away by a creek
that would moved away like a lazy snake
and by the shore the Medicine Man’s teepee,
where he will converse with the Great Spirit
a place that not even the eagles above can see.

Medicine Man “Wise Crow with many eyes”
many a bad tongue say, “he doesn’t exist,”
but if you walk two moons and three sun ups
without stopping or close the eyes and sleep,
you will find him waiting by the waterfall to
tell a legend of Wounded Warrior & Humblebee.

“Many many moons ago there was
a “Wounded Warrior” as we called him,
because he lost his sight in the great battle
and from that fateful day he couldn’t see;
a proud beautiful brave, he was like a wolf,
producing from every tribe’s braves jealousy;
he was wished in love by many maiden squaws
but his heart was not to give away for him,
no time for a brave warrior riding a mustang
to stop, if he wanted to become a Great Chief.”

“There was a girl among other many girls, but,
this one was born so ugly that eyes didn’t see
the happiness inside a soul of the purest gold
with laugh as beautiful as butterflies should be;
that girl didn’t mind the other women tongues
because she was as ugly as she was ever free,
and the disdain of every brave going around
with a shrug of her shoulders she would dismiss,
and hide the sadness of a young ugly woman
with a busy happiness of a flying humblebee”

“No one wanted to take care of Wounded Warrior
he couldn’t take care of himself as he couldn’t see,
aimlessly wandering about among busy squaws
hearing from others braves their scorn snickering;
‘Wounded Warrior’ was a very hungry lone wolf
until one day he came across of squaw Humblebee,
heard of her he had, ugly ugly woman they said,
but her voice was beautiful even if he couldn’t see,
with no pity, but with a friendly forcefulness
she took over the little world of his lonely teepee.”

“Hundred full moons went by and ‘Wounded Warrior’
forgot about the darkness because of Humblebee,
that they said was the Nation’s most ugliest squaw
was because all those fools had eyes that could see
what was repulsive to the Great Rules of the Beauty
when they ignored what was under his girls skin;
love had claimed his heart by the kindness way,
from Wounded Warrior to Happy one he was for she,
because now, when that little one was inside his arms
nothing out there was of any worth…to him.”

“As fate will, one day both where by the river’s shore
as Wounded Warrior, help going to the river he didn’t,
stubbornly stumbling to the river’s waves noise he went
lost his foot and as he felt backward on a rock his head hit;
when at last recovering consciousness inside his tent
he opened his eyes and wonders of wonders, he could see!
out of focus perhaps, but then much like he did before,
seeing above his head most concerned that of Humblebee,
he didn’t saw no ugly woman with tearful desperate eyes
but a world that wouldn’t never know that he could see.”

by Amber

”Humblebee was worried
if Wounded Warrior was able to see,
he might run away from her.
As she stood there looking right at him,
she began to feel radiant,
she was aglow with the purity of love,
a love that was unselfish, and unconditional.
Wounded Warrior look at Humblebee
and he was able to see her radiance.”

“Wounded Warrior, I know I am not a beauty,
but find it in your heart to see my love for you.
I have loved only you, and I will love you
till the day the Great Spirit takes my soul”.
She began to cry tears of love,
each tear, that was shed for Wounded Warrior,
brought his heart ever closer to Humblebee.
“My dearest Humblebee, I see your inner strength,
I feel your unconditional love,
and I have love for only you.”

”That night, Wounded Warrior made love to Humblebee,
with the passion of two long lost lovers.
upon the rise of the next full moon,
Humblebee announced to Wounded Warrior
that she was with child.
Each day she carried their baby,
Humblebee’s appearance took on a transformation.
her skin was clear and radiant,
her eyes glowed like the evening moon,
and her hair glistened like ebony stones.”

”The day of birth arrived, and Humblebee
presented Wounded Warrior with a son.
they called him, Rising Moon,
as Rising Moon grew to be a man,
Humblebee became more and more beautiful
Wounded Warrior and Humblebee,
were together for 23 years,
and on the moon of the 24th year,
Rising Moon presented them with their first
grandson, Humble Warrior, in honor of the two
people that meant the most to him in his life.”

”In the eyes of Wounded Warrior,
Humblebee was the most beautiful woman
that walked the face of this Mother Earth.
his life was complete, a loving woman,
a brave son, and a beautiful baby grandson.
he was ever grateful to have fallen and
gotten his sight back, otherwise his whole
life would have been so different.
he had the love of his life, and her beauty
was more than what he could ever have imagined.”

And that’s the legend that Medicine Man
“Wise Crow with many eyes” would tell.

Hi Georg, You write as if you are right there, like all your writes. This is so like the way it was. I don't know if the word "squaw" would be acceptable, though, because that is wasichu's derogatory toward Native females. Love knows no bounds, and this write is a great example of it. Thank you making me aware of this write... excellent pen, as always...

In Spirit,
Bear

"The Legend of Wounded Warrior & Humblebee" flows on the pure straem of life ~dancing in rhythm of wisdom in the compass of poetic sustainability~ making waves of family's togetherness and foam of love blown by the winds of hope to diffuse fraternity.

"The Legend of Wounded Warrior & Humblebee" is an outstanding narrative poem written in Blank Free Verse, which sounds like a Ballade.

In admiration,

The terms ballad and ballade can refer to any of the following things:

Ballad, a form of narrative poetry, often put to song, or a work of fiction with a legendary theme, used in the broadest sense.
Ballad (music), in Jazz or Popular music, usually a slow sentimental, love song or mellow aural tone, but occasionally a narrative song in verse form.

Ballade, a verse form common in the 1300s and 1400s.

The ballade, (not to be confused with the ballad) is a verse form typically consisting of three eight-line stanzas, each with a consistent metre and a particular rhyme scheme. The last line in the stanza is a refrain, and the stanzas are followed by a four-line concluding stanza (an envoi) usually addressed to a prince. The rhyme scheme is therefore usually 'ababbcbC ababbcbC ababbcbC bcbC', where the capital 'C' is a refrain.

How precious that Wounded Warrior could see all the inner beauty of Humblebee for the love they held for each other was a true uncondittional love. Thank you both so much for one of the very best collaborations I have had the honor to read.
