We dream, in those dreams we are happy, among smiles and caresses and peaceful moments in and universe that is ours as we entangle our bodies telling each other with every inch of our skin how deep our love is...
But sometime we have a nightmare that call on our tears...
I had dream, one bad dream last night,
more than a nightmare you can call,
leaving on empty gravel path she went
getting with every step far away small
I heard my self calling her sweet name
and I try but then, I couldn’t wake up.
Whatever I did, please I don’t remember!
suddenly felt naked with winter around
gnawing with all its teeth made of ice
cracking with pain each one of my bones,
you were leaving with the heart of summer
and I was now a prisoner of a cruel cold.
That vanishing image will haunt my days
because someone is whispering just now
in my ears that it wasn’t one bad dream,
you were going, it wasn’t a bad dream at all,
and I felt tears running down my pillow
as from that bad dream I couldn’t wake up.
There is one consolation Georg to heal your abberation, real love never leaves, attachment yes, unless your own love has whithered and then think about it, that most likely was attachment too, Bonnie got the right Idea, and take some aquavit with it, and salve those wounds inside. Yet it does not take away from your immense deep felt writing skills, you have me drinking now ha. Bless you buddy!

A very expressive poem, Georg! A sad dream is often difficult to
forget. Its memory tends to linger. Sometimes the dreamer
deliberately fills the following day with lots of upbeat music, and
comedy movies -- or they might visit a friend, one with a bubbly
personality in order to offset the affect of the bad dream's memory.
This often works.
You captured your subject matter well here my friend, and anyone who has lived through that and most of us have at one time in our lifes or other, know that nightmare all too well. I hope this one is fictional for you old buddy...

Marvelous desricption of a bad dream, especially one which could not wake up from. Everyone is touched in one way or the other when seasons shift but only few can express their feelings about such changes that affect our life. Well done, George

A beautiful and wonderful piece of soulful writing, my friend. But I hate that dream. Yes I do. It feels too much like a horrible truth, and it makes me want to duck-n-cover. Pain hurts (my grandmother said that and you can quote her if you like).
BTW - I never cheat at chess. Those extra Queens, Bishops, and Knights are just substituting for my AWOL Pawns (likely partying in Tijuana again) :-)
