My son is named Christopher A. Blackwell;
He owns the world at the age of seven;
He wants to be a fireman right now,
But who knows what he’ll be at eleven?

There was also Christopher J. Blackwell,
Who left this world and is now in Heaven;
He served the public as a fireman
Two years ago, September 11.

My Christopher owns a shiny red truck
With which he rescues his toys from the tree;
His namesake owned all the love and respect
Of his fellow men in Company 3.

Christopher J. must have lived quite a life
To have been called away from here so soon;
Christopher A. has some time yet to live,
Chasing his dreams by the light of the moon.

It is time to rest now, Christopher A.,
You’ll rescue your playthings another day;
Likewise, rest in Heaven, Christopher J.,
With the others you helped along the way.
