We all seek salvation. Have you ever wondered if we are not sometimes trying to hard to earn it and not hard enough to learn it?

Poem Artwork

I followed all of your commandments, Dear Lord

Now save me!

I heeded you and made plowshares out of my sword

Now save me!

I have studied your word and learned to live your way

Now save me!

I have witnessed for you relentlessly day after day

Now save me!

Why is it, dear Lord that you make me feel lost and alone?

Please, save me!

I have never been one to cast the first stone

Please save me!

You are silent when I ask for your wonderful love

I need to know you have saved me.

The silence is looming from heaven above

Please save me!

Maybe I am not going at this right

Please save me!

I feel like a fool who is lost in the night

Please save me!

Suddenly I know why my anguish is so deep

Have you not saved me?

I am but one of your many lost sheep

Please save me!

Wait, I have learned something today

You are saving me!

Suddenly I know salvation cannot possibly be earned

You are saving me!

Salvation will come to me only after I’ve learned

That your love for me will always be

And though I cannot earn it, I can now plainly see

That you will save me!

When the final trumpet has sounded and you lift me up high

You will have saved me!

For Jesus taught he who endures until end

It is he who will cry out you have saved me!

So for the rest of my days I will go where you send

For now I know you are saving me!

Not by works that you have done but according to His Merch you are saved

Hi Lew, I like your heart-felt cry to God, but here's the deal: "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10: 9.)It's that simple! I just love this verse.

God Bless
Lena
