My Wife and I visited Silver Springs in Florida on several occasions. The crystal clear water is Unbelievable.

The Lake

The lake was nestled in the wooded hills.

It’s water deep and clear like glass.

There were no waves in the waters so still

So you could see far below from above as you pass.

The fish you saw swimming in this deep lake

Looked large for they were yards beneath you

But the water acted like a magnifying glass which did make

Each one seem huge, a beautiful view

Of nature at its very best

The fish swim around with no cares or worry

Some move swiftly while others rest.

They have no reason to stress or hurry

For they only swim around beneath the deep

Another of Gods wonderful creations

These fish that swim and never weep.

I watched them for a long time with extreme fascination.

"The Lake" is fascinating! Fish, tale, water and all. And in the very end..."Fish that swim and never weep." Incredible. Thanks, Gloria

And I am fascinated, that your poetry is very nearly the shape of a fish standing on its tail...which reminds me, Lew, this is a very interesting fish tale, and God is an extremely interesting Creator!

Blessings, Rhonda
