Fly, Like a Bird

I gaze into the clear blue sky

And watch the birds as they gracefully fly.

I try to imagine how it would be

To fly up high ore land and sea.

From up there I would feel much closer to Heaven’s door.

I could spread my wings and gently sore

Through the clouds and sometimes above them.

With wings outstretched I would reach for God while praising him.

One wonderful day my spirit will take wing and fly

To meet face to face with my creator who reigns on high.

I will bough my head before my Lord,

Quietly praising him without a word.

My mouth will be still but my spirit will sing

Praises to the one who has given everything

That I might have eternal life.

No more will I need to deal with cares and strife

But instead live where joy and happiness can abound.

The glorious voices of Angels singing is the only sound

That my ears can hear and my heart can beat too.

For Jesus died on the Cross for me and for you.

Praise him!
