It has taken 61 years for the making of me and I am not yet a finished product. Without seeming to be selfcentered, I must say I am Glad God made me to be me for he made me with love and devotion. I only want to return that love to him.

If I Could Be:

If God said I could be anything I wanted to be.

I know my response would be, “let’s see.”

If I could be anything I wanted to be I would surely ask to simply be me.

Why me you may ask?  If I were a bird I could fly free

And glide high over land and over the sea.

Maybe, I could ask to be a man as rich as can be

But I tell you I would still rather be me.

You press on telling me I could be an owl in a tree

Not knowing the dangers of the world around me

But the owl knows of these dangers you see

That is why he never blinks and he stays in the tree.

“Why do you not wish to be a king and people would bough before thee?

You ask and you ask but my answer is one of simplicity.

What I really want to be is what God made me to be.

I am his handiwork for I am what he made me.

Should I then say, “God I implore of thee

Please make me something you had not wished me to be?

I tell you my friend just as those birds fly over the sea

I will one day  fly higher, held in his arms for eternity.

God made you and he also made me

He will give eternal life, forever, living in ecstasy.

Hi Lew, this is beautiful. I certaining would rather you be you, too. God makes no mistakes...we are exactly as He meant us to be...except free will turns some of us into monsters!

God Bless
Lena

Stuff You Can Say Everyday by D. Mullis

My son wrote a book of his personal, one liner quotes. Never underestimate the power of simple statements! A very interesting read!
