The Misery of Unsaid Words

He loved her with all his heart.

He would have given his life for her rather than let her know pain.

He knew his life would be empty if one day they should part.

He had already promised that by her side he would always remain.

               The only flaw in this wonderful romance was the words he never said.

He had given earthly gifts and earthly comforts instead.

The words, “I love you,” did not come easily through his lips.

Even when he felt her hairs caress his finger tips.

He always took for granted that she knew just how he felt.

One day God called her home, now he felt his heart burn and melt.

She always knew how he loved her; she never needed for him to say.

Now it was he who wished he had said it on this cold September day.

It is an exercise in passion, love and warm emotion to softly proclaim your love.

They are words you will keep with you until you, too are lifted above.

Tell your loved one of your passion; do not wait for a reason.

It need not be an anniversary or a special time of season.

Say I love you.  Go now and do it today.
