I fear some of my friends may disagree with this poem but I spent my whole childhood trying to be saved only to find out that I could not save myself. That is a gift. What I am trying to say is this. Jesus came to pay for my sins. He told the woman at the well to “go and sin no more.” We don’t know what happened to her then. I believe Jesus did wash away my sins. But just as Paul wrote, “I am the greatest among all sinners,” I fear so am I. The secret is to constantly keep soul searching. See my faults and failures and work at removing them from my life. I honestly believe that if I do that his forgiveness keeps going. And now I think my soul is ready for another Wash.
I’m coming Lord!

The Car Wash

My wife and I took the car to the wash and turned on the powerful spray.

We worked together to clean off the dirt but no matter how hard we worked some of it would simply stay.

When we turned off the water, we grabbed some wet towels and frantically began to scrub and clean.

However, no matter how hard we worked there were still spots to be seen.

We finally gave up because of sheer exhaustion and decided the car was clean enough.

But I still found myself looking at the dirt, tempted to grab another cloth with which to buff.

We finally both decided that we would live with the small amounts of debris stuck to the car because it was much cleaner than before

We agreed that we would say the job is done well enough.  There was no need to do any more.

Now, I look back and realize that our lives are like our car.

Our Lord Buffs, and polishes and works for our souls but he does not wipe away every mar.

He has the wisdom and knowledge that we live in a world of sin and doubt.

So, he says, “I will wipe away the important sins and the residue will teach you what life is about.

Christians are not perfect.  Christians are forgiven.

It is because Christians are weak and sinful that we need Jesus in our lives. Christians are not perfect, never has been, never will be...without Jesus. Christians will be the first to say, without Jesus, we're nothing. Your wisdom, as always, makes us stop and think, Lew. Good one!

God Bless

Everyone must eat a little dirt--everyone must be a little bit dirty, otherwise we would be like God and we cannot be that perfect here, we will be perfected in the after life--that tells me we must all do a little purgutory. little flower

I like the message you tied this write up with. No one is perfect and all are forgiven.

Lew, this is so inspirational and the way you've written the poem, it makes sin so easy to understand from God's perspective. Well done, my friend.
Warmest regards,
CJ
